Proxmox VE 9: Advanced Administration and Optimization is available now on both NDG platforms. It continues from Proxmox VE 9: Setup and Management into running Proxmox VE in production, across 19 labs:
- Import virtual machines from VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Oracle VirtualBox
- Control access with custom roles and API tokens, then automate Proxmox VE through its REST API
- Deploy non-Linux virtual machines, and OCI containers (added in Proxmox VE 9.1 as a technology preview)
- Run hookscripts and snippets, and set up VMs with Cloud-Init
- Monitor hosts, VMs, and containers with S.M.A.R.T. reporting, an external InfluxDB metric server, and SMTP alerts
- Encrypt disks, directories, and ZFS pools
- Build software-defined networking zones and VNets
- Deploy Ceph distributed storage with CephFS and RBD pools
A challenge lab closes the course. It tests cluster quorum, networked storage, VM configuration, and backup schedules without step-by-step guidance.
On NDG Online
Proxmox VE 9: Advanced Administration and Optimization runs in the browser with nothing to install. Each lab provides a live Proxmox VE 9 environment: three Proxmox servers, a NAS, and a client workstation on segmented networks. The course runs 19 hours, access lasts 4 months per purchase, and learners with an academic (.edu) email qualify for reduced pricing. Instructors can teach it as a class, and teams can buy access through a price quote.
On NETLAB+
The Proxmox VE 9: Advanced Administration and Optimization lab library is available for NETLAB+ systems. It uses the Proxmox VE 9: Advanced Administration and Optimization Pod, five VMs: a client, a NAS, and three Proxmox servers, set up with the pod install guide. Install the course with the Course Manager; the Proxmox content release notes list the VM builds.
Coming from VE 8?
The Proxmox VE 8: Advanced Administration and Optimization course and lab library remain available for programs standardized on VE 8. Its Lab 15 walks through upgrading a VE 8 cluster to VE 9.
