NDG is hosting a two-day virtual workshop to present a NEW LAB LIBRARY designed to help academic institutions introduce Critical Infrastructure (CI) topics to Information Communication Technology (ICT) and cyber learners. This workshop will be held July 13-14 from 10:30am-5:00pm EDT.
NEW LAB LIBRARY - Introduction to Critical Infrastructure for IT Students
DAY ONE will focus on labs introducing PLC topics, followed by using ICT and cyber skills to show how a PLC can be compromised (by Lab 14). Attendees will have the opportunity to complete the labs. A water utility SCADA technician will be available for a question-and-answer session.
DAY TWO will continue with the labs. An electrical engineer project manager who is responsible for deploying solar farm and power plant systems will present an example of a power facility practical application architecture. A university researcher working within the power industry sector will share his research lab and program.
Who should attend: ICT instructors and professors seeking hands-on labs that prepare learners for employment in an engineering technology field. Potential local employers in your community may include water and power utilities as well as manufacturing. There are an estimated 148,000 public water systems in the United States. According to cyberseek.org, employers in the manufacturing sector have 70,000+ U.S. cyber job openings. Your local community may hire an IT learner that will work in this sector OR need your institution's assistance.
