Accessibility in NDG Online
Updated 2026-10-20
NDG works to make NDG Online content accessible, following World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) accessibility standards. Some limits are technical:
- Most lab virtual machines send no sound. Their console connection carries no audio back to your computer, so screen readers and other audio-based tools can't be used inside them. Some machines in the NDG Online lab view do play sound (see Machines with sound).
- Some tools taught in the courses are not accessible. Some industry software, and devices with only a command-line interface, do not follow modern accessibility guidelines or support third-party assistive software. The same limits apply to that software and equipment outside the lab.

NDG commissioned an independent review of NDG Online and NDG Online. Read the VPAT 2.4 (WCAG edition) report (PDF).
